Police have charged the mother of a woman who was found murdered and raped last month, saying she had a role in her daughter’s death.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police detectives arrested Dawn Michelle Ward, 47, on Wednesday at her parents’ house in Columbia. Police say Ward was charged with murder, accessory after the fact to a felony, and incest.
Last week, police arrested Derek Ward, 24, and charged him with murdering and raping Brittini Ward, his 23-year-old cousin
Police say the incest charge involves Dawn Ward’s relationship with her nephew, Derek Ward.

Linnanmäki Amusement Park was closed an hour ahead of time on Sunday because of a disturbance.

June 6 (Bloomberg) — A stampede of fans hospitalized 15 people before a soccer World Cup warm-up match today between Nigeria and North Korea in Johannesburg, South African police said.
“Police members immediately started implementing crowd management measures but the crowd became unruly and pushed against the gates, forcing the gates open on two occasions,” the statement said.
